  • Herb is a leader with a history of molding teams, processes and systems into high performing business organizations. He is a proven global manager with extensive experience across the project development life cycle from strategic planning and capital budgeting to retail facility engineering, sourcing, and general management. Since retiring with over 31 years service at Exxon Mobil Corporation, Herb has consulted for a Fortune 50 corporation. Recent projects include designing and launching a field marketing organization for a B2B business, negotiating the renewal of a private label credit card with a major bank, and developing a multi-faceted marketing program for an international market entry. He is the Operations Director and the adjunct professor of Quantitative Analysis in Catholic University’s MSBA program. 

    Prior to retirement, Herb served over 6 years as the Global Engineering Manager for the ExxonMobil Fuels Marketing retail business where he was responsible for design, construction, maintenance, and safety for engineering operations at ~7500 company-owned service stations. Before that, he was a Global Sourcing Manager in the ExxonMobil Procurement Department, supporting the Fuels Marketing Company. With a team of employees based in 9 countries, he managed a portfolio of major contracts ranging from equipment to advertising to outsourcing.

    Herb first gained international experience working for 8 years in the Caribbean, Central America and South America. During a period of increasing foreign direct investment, he held positions as Planning Manager for Caribbean and Central America, Strategic Planning Advisor for South and Central America, and Regional Maintenance Engineering Manager.  He established and managed the first regional Marketing Procurement Department across South and Central America. Herb has managed cross-cultural teams for over 20 years, has visited or worked in over 50 countries, and speaks Spanish.

    Early in his career, working in several U.S. markets, Herb gained diverse functional experience serving as an Area Sales Manager, Market Planning Advisor, Construction and Maintenance Manager, and Distribution Terminal Superintendent. 

    Herb received his MBA from Georgetown University where he was Valedictorian of his class, a McDonough Scholar, and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. A Dean’s List graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Herb served 5 years as an Army officer in the United States and Germany. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and was Airborne and Ranger qualified.

    Active in the community, he is a lay reader at his church, and served for over 8 years on the Board of Directors of his homeowners’ association. Herb is married, with 3 grown daughters and a young grandson. He is an avid college football fan and enthusiastic golfer.
