We asked our Busch School graduates why they chose to attend The Catholic University of America. Rizaldo Salvador, CatholicU '23, works as an Associate for Public Equities & Credit Clients at Third Bridge and is a Commissioned U.S. Army Reserve Ordnance Officer. He shares his story and advice below:

Why did you choose to attend the Busch School at The Catholic University of America?

"My primary attraction to The Catholic University of America was driven by my desire to attend an institution with a strong tradition of excellence founded on Catholic values, traditions, and teachings—a place that nurtures the development of a strong moral compass in its students. It was this holistic approach to education, where faith and intellect meet, that made me confident CUA was the ideal place to pursue my academic goals while nurturing my faith formation."

What were some highlights of your time in the Busch School and at Catholic University?

"One of my earliest and most profound memories at the Busch School was MGT 118 (Vocation of Business). It was this first glimpse into the Busch School, taught by Prof. Andreas Widmer, that solidified my desire to be the very best businessman I can be, founded on ethical principles and the need to serve others.

Not only did I learn the principles and knowledge regarding “how” to excel in business on a technical level, but more importantly, I also learned the underlying principles of “why” we should strive to do our work well."

What have you enjoyed most about working in your position?

"Moving from D.C. to now living in the heart of New York City is a truly amazing opportunity to have a tremendous impact on a vast number of people! Applying what I have learned in my four years at the Busch School, I strive to work each day with a renewed sense of duty in service to others and the souls around me.

At Third Bridge and also in the Army Reserves, I predominantly work with hedge funds and interact with people from around the world. In particular, I love learning about their experiences in their particular industries!"

What advice do you have for prospective students?

"If you are looking to live out your faith while attending a prestigious university in the heart of the United States, rest assured that there is no greater option than choosing CUA. While at CUA, blaze a trail! It is there where you will forge deep friendships that will last a lifetime."
