Upon successful completion of 6 credits of approved MBA courses, each alumnus can convert their MSB or MSBA to an MBA. A specialization certificate is also available for alumni who complete all 12 approved credits of a certificate, but this is not required for the standard degree conversion. Please contact busch-mba@cua.edu for more information about specialization certificates.
MBA degree conversion is only available for graduates of the Master of Science in Business or Master of Science in Business Analysis Programs at the Catholic University of America. Please note that this does not constitute the completion of two separate graduate degrees.
Completion of the 6 credits of approved courses can be completed through asynchronous online courses, in-person courses, or hybrid. In August of 2025, two 3-credit asynchronous online courses, Generative AI & Digital Transformation and Management Communications, will be released to allow our MSB(A) alumni to convert their degrees in as little as one semester. New asynchronous online courses are anticipated to be released each semester.

For the Fall semester of 2025 only, a discount of $500 per course will be offered for each MSB(A) to MBA conversion course taken by MSB(A) alumni. This discount will not be available in Spring 2026.
MBA courses currently cost $1,385 per credit, with additional costs incurred if you choose to join the international Capstone Experience (1.5 credits) in spring 2026. In addition, Catholic University has mandatory fees that cannot be waived. These fees are charged per semester, so completing the 6 credits needed for degree conversion in one semester will reduce your total costs.
