Everyone at the Catholic University of America recognizes the importance that graduation holds for our students and their families, and we know the tremendous sense of pride that accompanies Commencement. We are all looking forward to celebrating our students' accomplishments.

Logistics Questions

  • Are there tickets or RSVPs required for the graduation and diploma ceremonies?

    No, there are no tickets or RSVPs required.
  • What guests should I bring with me?

    We recommend bringing immediate family, however, you are welcome to bring whomever you'd like.
  • Where should I park?

    We recommend using a ride services or taking public transportation if possible. If you are driving, the following locations will be open: Shrine Parking lot, DuFour parking lot or street parking along John McCormack Road.
  • How should individuals with disabilities navigate?

    There will be shuttles running for those who need assistance.

Schedule Questions

  • What time should I arrive to the Basilica Lawn?

    All candidates for degrees are asked to assemble no later than 9:00 a.m. For additional information on the Commencement Exercises, please visit the University Commencement Page.
  • How do I know which specialization grouping I am in?

    Students will line up by degree program. Candidates for the degree Master’s of Science in Business will process in first, and be the first to receive their degrees. Undergraduates who specialized in finance, as the winners of our Founder’s Day challenge, will be the first among our undergraduates in the procession and degree conferrals. Following finance students will be candidates for Bachelors of Science in Accounting, and then all non-finance candidates for Bachelor of Science in Business, not grouped by specialization. Staff will be on hand to help you find your proper position in the procession line.
  • Will there be a rehearsal for the Busch School Diploma Ceremony?

    Thursday, May 9th: For the first time ever, the Busch School’s diploma ceremony will be held in the Great Upper Church of the Basilica. To prepare, we will hold a practice diploma ceremony at 11:00 AM this Thursday. All students that intend to walk in the diploma ceremony are asked to attend.

Individuals requesting accommodations for disabilities should contact cua-access@cua.edu at least one week prior to the event to request accommodations. In all situations, a good faith effort (up until the time of the event) will be made to provide accommodations.
