Claudia Hindley, Catholic '26, is an Accounting major from Rifton, New York. She's interning as a Tax Intern at Ryan & Wetmore.
Briefly describe your new internship.
"At Ryan & Wetmore I have the opportunity to apply my classroom knowledge of accounting in real-world scenarios. Working with the close-knit Bethesda team, which offers services from Audit and Assurance to Tax and Consulting, I enjoy the insight into various aspects of the accounting profession. I'm excited to learn as much as possible!"
How did your Busch School and Catholic University education help you find this internship?
"In landing this internship, I worked closely with Busch School Career Advisor Hannah Hix. Hannah connected me with CUA intern alumni, and through their network I could schedule an interview with the firm."
What are you most excited to learn in your internships?
"Honestly, I just like to learn, period. I'm hoping to get fluent in their multiple software systems at a granular level, but also gain a macro-scale understanding of what working in tax actually looks like."
What advice do you have for students during their internship search?
"It seems a little premature for me to hand out advice! My top Do for interviewing would be to be curious about the job and what it takes to work it. I loved hearing interviewers spend most of our time relating the things they were passionate about from their personal experience at the firm; why they chose the company, and why they've stayed on. Those personal anecdotes give a really great insight into a company's culture."
