  • Martha Valenzuela, B.A., M.S. is a distinguished marketing and sales professional and a faculty member in the Busch School of Business at The Catholic University of America. With over 25 years of experience in sales and business development, she brings a global perspective and practical insight to her teaching. She has received multiple peer and industry accolades highlighting her performance as a leader and industry trailblazer. 

    Before joining Catholic University in 2022, Professor Valenzuela held senior positions in Sales, Business Development, and Marketing Management, leading revenue growth strategies and cross-functional teams across industries such as retail, technology, pharmaceuticals, media, and hospitality. Earlier in her career, she worked in education as a language tutor, a foundation that fostered her lasting commitment to teaching and mentorship.

    At the Busch School, Professor Valenzuela teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Digital Marketing, Marketing Management, Consumer Behavior, and Integrated Marketing & Sales. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes applied learning, ethical leadership, and preparing students to succeed in dynamic and global markets. 

    Outside the classroom, she volunteers with Project Gabriel of Montgomery County, supporting expecting and new mothers in the Washington, D.C. region, and mentors recent graduates as they navigate early career choices.

    Professor Valenzuela earned her M.S. in Market Research and Consumer Behavior from the European University of Madrid (IEDE) and a B.A. in Business Administration and Marketing from the Technological University of Central America (UNITEC). She has traveled extensively throughout Asia, Europe, and the United States and currently resides in Washington, D.C., with her husband, Juan Carlos, and their three children.
