The Busch School and the Office of Alumni Engagement partnered for the BUS 499 Career Discernment IV course. The course educates our upcoming graduates about life after college and encourages them to prepare for what comes next. Students evaluate and reflect on their professional experiences over the past four years and apply learnings and habits to their continuous improvement plans in the ultimate pursuit of service through work. Four alumni panels were convened, and topics included:
  • How to start your career as a junior employee
  • Building a life after college
  • Career and personal decision making
  • Searching for job number two while in job number one
  • How to be a lifelong learner
  • How to interview well

Our alumni panels represented a variety of industries and levels of expertise. We were proud and thankful to the alumni who volunteered their time, including:

  • Chelsea Meyer - EAB
  • X'Zayvier Mills - Elastic
  • Jose Sousa - Prince George's County
  • Paige Hall - Airbus
  • Liz Fibleuil - Tanooki Labs
  • Neha Pearson - CatholicU
  • Dr. Diane Kern - Licensed Psychologist
