Jackie Markisz graduated in 2021 with a degree in Finance and Marketing. She currently works as a Commercial Leadership Associate. From studying abroad in Rome to interning at prestigious organizations like The Chamber of Commerce and RBC, Jackie's journey at the Busch School prepared her for success at AstraZeneca.
Why did you choose to attend the Busch School at The Catholic University of America?
I chose to attend the Busch School at the Catholic University of America due to its close proximity to major companies in DC. I was interested in the small class size and having the ability to really get to know your peers and faculty on a deep level.
What were some highlights of your time in the Busch School and at Catholic University?
I studied abroad at Catholic University’s Rome campus. I was able to take business classes while studying abroad.
I interned throughout my undergrad I was able to apply my course work into a real-world setting. My internships at The Chamber of Commerce and RBC gave me the opportunity to explore multiple industries and find my passions.
What have you enjoyed most about working in your position?
Making an impact in the patients’ lives is what truly motivates me.
I have enjoyed hearing from patients how much our oncology trials have positively extended their quality of life.
What advice do you have for prospective students?
Take advantage of all the networking opportunities that the Busch School of Business has to offer. Learn about different industries, take different classes, and find your passion.
