The Busch School of Business at The Catholic University of America is proud to announce that Dr. Flavio Felice, the School's Michael Novak Distinguished Scholar in Residence, has been named a Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic by the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella. This prestigious honor, one of the most significant recognitions bestowed by the Italian Republic, celebrates individuals who have distinguished themselves in their professions and made substantial contributions to Italian culture.
The Order of Merit of the Italian Republic is awarded annually to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional merit in fields such as literature, arts, economics, public service, and social activities. Dr. Felice’s distinguished career and impact on economic and political thought have earned him this esteemed recognition.
“This is a tremendous honor and a testament to Dr. Felice’s incredible impact as a scholar,” said Dr. Andrew Abela, Dean of the Busch School of Business. “We are incredibly proud to have had him as a member of the Busch School faculty this year.”
Dr. Felice was invested as a Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic on June 2, Republic Day, during a ceremony in Italy.
“I am deeply honored to receive this recognition from the President of the Italian Republic,” said Dr. Felice, “and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to work at The Busch School.”
Dr. Felice’s scholarship at the Busch School focuses on the civil underpinnings of a free and virtuous economy.
