Sun-Kissed and Protected: All SPF Makeup routine

The Sunscreen Struggle
Have you ever had to choose between wearing makeup or wearing sunscreen? Because I have. A lot of us know the struggle of finding a sunscreen that performs well under makeup that doesn’t peel, make foundation crack, or give dry patches. I could honestly go on and on about the struggles of finding a sunscreen that works well under makeup that does not make the “skip sunscreen just this once” thought creep in... again.
The truth is, finding a sunscreen that plays nice with makeup shouldn't feel like a never-ending quest. But if you've spent more time scrubbing off failed combos than actually enjoying your glammed face, you’re in the right place. Let’s talk about the struggle and, more importantly, how to overcome it.
Acne Struggle
I have struggled with acne since I was in high school, and after years and years of struggling to control my acne, once I was able to go to a dermatologist that actually helped, I was left with another challenge: acne scars.
That’s when sunscreen entered the chat, not just as a “maybe I should wear this” step, but as a non-negotiable. My dermatologist stressed that if I wanted to fade those scars, I needed to wear SPF EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Easier said than done, right?
The journey to finding the right sunscreen was a tough one. Some made me break out all over again, some dried me out, others turned me into a grease, and others that left me with a ghostly white cast.
Found the One
But eventually, through trial, error, and way too much money spent, I found the one. A sunscreen that didn’t clog my pores and worked well with my skin, and it layered beautifully under makeup. I actually looked forward to putting it on. SPF became a small act of skincare self-care every morning.
The Benefits
Then one sunny summer day, I had an idea: what if I could create a full glam routine using all SPF-infused products? Imagine makeup that doesn’t just look good but also protects your skin.
There are so many benefits to using sunscreen daily. Studies show that daily use of SPF 15 or higher reduces the risk of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) by about 40 percent and lowers your melanoma risk by 50 percent. Tinted sunscreens are also great, not only because of the skin-evening glow they provide but also because tinted sunscreens combine broad-spectrum mineral UV filters, like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, with added pigments that can reflect away visible light which is known to significantly increase the chances of hyperpigmentation and
or melasma.
