Don't lose the bling even while you’re doing your thing: The style guide on how to keep the shine while under the lights

Let's be honest, if you're anything like me, you want to look good in everything you do. Being on the court, field, or track shouldn't stop you from doing that. The game is changing; you can get away with it without the refs being on your case. I'm here to help.

1. Know the rules

Every sport has different rules. Basketball refs and lacrosse refs tend to be the strictest. But there is always a way around this; be sure to know the rules. Trust me, nothing is worse than having to struggle to take your jewelry off right before kickoff.

2. Keep it lowkey for practice

This is your time to test everything out to see what works and doesn't. Look good, feel good, and play good. I call it “swagging” to see the looks I may like.

3. Find a trusted brand

This is what's hard! I’m a big fan of SHOPGLD.com. I saw that many professional athletes are partners with them. I've found that gold is the most resistant and has the strength to withstand almost all conditions. But ultimately, find what you like the most.

4. The old-fashioned

The tape over is the classic. This also helps get through the warm-up check-ins done by the refs, where they check for any questionable accessories. You can always tuck your chains until you can just flow.

5. Be smart

Don't do anything to jeopardize you or your team. If you get a warning, just take it off; it isn't that important and worth the risk. Look good before the game, handle business, and look good during the celebrations. If you can do it all together.

6. Lastly

Sports and style don't have to be enemies. Doing it right, you can get “swaggy”. Always remember, play hard, safe, and shine at all times, jewelry or not. Moving forward, shopgld.com is a good way to start.
