William Schroeder, Catholic U'26, is an Operations Management and Philosophy student from Rockville Centre, NY. He accepted a job as an Associate at AlphaSights.
Briefly describe your new job opportunity.
"I will be working at AlphaSights, the global leader in an industry known as knowledge on demand. In this role, I will be working on their research team for private equity clients."
How did your Busch School and Catholic University education help you find this career path?
"I discovered AlphaSights through an information session at the Busch School. This information session was vital to getting the offer, because I was able to meet a recruiter and a manager right here in Maloney Hall."
What activities were you involved in during undergrad?
"Throughout my time at CUA, I have served as the Student Body Treasurer, the VP of Business and Philosophy Club, an ambassador to the Honors Program, a member of the President's Society, and as a Teaching Assistant in the Busch School."
What were some highlights of your time at Catholic University?
"I have had the most incredible experience at CUA, and I owe it all to so many great people. I have been able to participate in fellowships, seminars, and numerous conferences from Michigan to Rome, all thanks to friends and professors. Ultimately, the greatest part of my time here has been growing closer to our Lord with my best friends."
What advice do you have for students during their job search?
"(1) Show up to information/recruiting sessions consciously thinking about how you can stand out as the ideal candidate in the room. (2) Leverage your network. Call relatives, friends, or really anyone that you have some mutual connection with. Even if it doesn't lead to a job opportunity now, it provides you with a diverse knowledge base and potential for future opportunities. (3) Set aside time in your schedule solely dedicated to the job search. It can vary depending on your year, but at least a few hours a week if you are a junior or a senior."
