The Marketing Society had the privilege to speak with Maria Cinquegrani, Senior Planning Business Analyst at Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. She shared valuable information surrounding her professional experience and advice for students on how to stand out during the application process. Maria attended Loyola Maryland for undergrad, while studying information systems and economics. She also attended Catholic University’s study abroad program in Rome.

Before Disney, Maria worked as a IT Business Partner Analyst, and beginning in 2018, started her role at Disney. Maria described her position as two parts; one to strategically plan the five years of technology projects based on needs at Disney. The second half of her position is to oversee projects and secure the funding to see those projects through to completion. She is able to scope a project, work with vendors, and come up with an executive deck for signatories. Maria was not able to share many of the projects she was working on due to confidentiality.

Even though her role is in IT, she connected much of her role to marketing. She mentioned “you must market yourself,” whether it be in the workplace or applying to jobs. She emphasized networking, creating meaningful connections, and tailoring the resume to the job description. Her role also encompasses marketing when she creates a presentation deck for executives. She needs to market her proposal in the right way to receive funding to advance the project.

Through her technical solutions, Maria ensures that the guest experience is top tier and upholds Disney’s magic throughout the projects she works on.
