Dr. Andrew Abela, founding dean of the Busch School of Business and Ordinary Professor of Marketing, wrote "Is the Fearless Pursuit of Truth Enough?" for the Public Discourse, discussing the founding the of University of Austin and the pursuit of truth in higher education.

"The vitally important questions that face college-age students (and everyone else) today demand answers. Questions like: why am I here? What is the meaning of my life? What should I do with my life? How should I live? Is life just a grand illusion?—these can’t be put off forever. Even when, because of their size and complexity, such questions cannot be answered definitively, they must be answered at least provisionally."

His research on the integrity of the marketing process, including marketing ethics, Catholic Social Doctrine, and internal communication, has been published in several academic journals, including the Journal of Marketing, the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, the Journal of Business Ethics, and the Journal of Markets & Morality, and in two books. He is the co-editor of A Catechism for Business, from Catholic University Press.
