Lent Lecture Series - Almsgiving

Professor Rebecca Teti hosted the second lecture in the Busch School’s Lent Lecture series. Professor Teti  spoke on one of the three pillars of Lent, Almsgiving, while students and professors enjoyed dinner from Chipotle.

Professor Teti answered three questions during her lecture: what is the purpose of Almsgiving?, What even is Almsgiving?, And how do we practice Almsgiving? Professor Teti explained that Almsgiving is helping a person in need and forming a relationship with them. She further illuminated the principle by giving some of her own examples. Professor Teti encouraged students to use Almsgiving as an extension of prayer and to even use giving alms as a way of repentance. Lastly, Professor Teti encouraged students to practice giving alms not only during the Lenten season but throughout the year.
