Lent Lecture Series - Fasting and the Passion
Professor John Egan hosted the third Lent Lecture of this lenten season on “Fasting and the Passion.” Professor Egan spoke on the second pillar of Lent, Fasting, and had students hold their fast until after his lecture to enjoy Chipotle.
Professor Egan spoke on this history of fasting taking students through many examples from Moses to Pope Francis. He told students how fasting can be used as a way to bring them closer to God and even spoke on his own experience that he has implemented this Lent. Lastly, Professor Egan encouraged students to join him in fasting on the remaining Fridays of Lent.
