Ashley Martin '24 is a Sales and Marketing student from Medford, NJ. She shares why she chose to attend Catholic University and the Busch School, and what advice she has for prospective students.
Why did you choose to attend Catholic University and the Busch School?
"I chose Catholic University and the Busch School to get the full college experience from an academic and athletic standpoint. The support the coaches give student-athletes in the classroom is remarkable, and vice versa, for the professors in the business school. The career opportunities at Catholic are growing more and more every day, and professors will help students with career development."
Why do you want to be in the business world?
"I want to be in the business world because I want to be challenged every day. I want to have goals to work for every day, and I want to be surrounded by people who will support me to be the best version of myself. I have learned so much in my business classes about practicing good faith while in the business world, and I can't wait to apply what I have learned."
What's been your favorite part of being a student at Catholic University?
"[My favorite part is] being immersed in a culture that is competitive in both athletics and academics. Everyone wants to be the best and works so hard to get what they want. The culture is everything here at Catholic, and it is my favorite part of the school. Getting involved with business school organizations like the sales program and becoming a teacher's assistant was the most rewarding thing for me because I got to work with so many amazing people. Getting involved with athletics with SAAC and Morgan’s Message has allowed me to collaborate with leaders from all different sports teams."
What advice would you give to prospective students?
"If I can give any advice to prospective students at Catholic it is that this place is something truly special. It's a place where you are surrounded by the best of the best and a place where you can learn so much. Being in DC, the career opportunities and internships are so accessible. Don’t be afraid to try something new, whether that is talking to a new classmate, professor, coach, or leader around campus everyone wants to help. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. You will learn so much about yourself along the way."
