Courtney Cutting, Catholic U '24, is an accounting student from Scituate, MA. She accepted an internship as an Audit Intern at BDO.
Briefly describe your internship opportunity.
"Last summer I was an audit intern at BDO in the Charlotte, NC office. I accepted another internship (the same one) at the end of the summer, which I will be doing this summer before going home to get my master's."
How did your Busch School and Catholic University education help you find this career path?
"The accounting staff helped perfect my resume and prepare me for the interview process. I also got a lot of guidance from Prof. Felix on graduate school plans and getting my CPA."
What activities were you involved in during undergrad?
"I am on the track and field team, I studied abroad last semester in Rome, and I work at the front desk at Kane Fitness."
What were some highlights of your time at Catholic University?
"Studying abroad in Rome and traveling to other countries (Spain, France,Greece), Being on the track team and forming friendships with my teammates, working with the other accounting majors (over the last 4 years we have all become close friends)."
What advice do you have for students during their internship search?
"Step out of your comfort zone! Whether that's applying for a location away from home or going for a big company, it is not as stressful as you think so have fun with it and try new options."
