Natalie Zentz, Catholic U '25, is a Operations Management and Human Resources student from Pittsburgh, PA. She accepted an internship as a Human Resources Intern at the Busch School of Business.

Briefly describe your internship opportunity.

"I secured my internship in January 2024 and interviewed for the position. My previous experience in onboarding and involvement in The Busch School as President of the Business Women's Council and a member of the Dean's Student Advisory Council made me an ideal candidate."

What is your position at the company? Were there any projects or aspects of the job in which you have a special interest?

"My position at the Busch School is to design, develop, and implement a professional onboarding and orientation program for the Busch School's faculty and staff. The Busch School aims at hiring professors and faculty who align with the school’s values and are passionate about being a force for good. With this mission in mind, I am especially interested in creating a program that moves employees more effectively from the hiring process to the classroom, where students can then learn and grow from these individuals. Also, this is the very first Busch School of Business Human Resource Internship, so I am extremely honored to be a part of this."

Does the internship prepare you (or make you excited) for a career in that field?

"This internship will help prepare me for a career in Human Resources by offering valuable insight and experience in successfully developing an orientation and onboarding program. I am excited to apply the skills learned to future internships and jobs, helping create a welcoming and informative experience for new hires."

What advice do you have for students during their internship search?

"My advice for students is to consistently pursue internship opportunities, even if their qualifications don’t entirely align with the requirements specified for the job. You gain valuable knowledge just by applying, writing cover letters, and interviewing."
