Jack Kouba graduated in 2023 with a degree in Management. He chose the Busch School for its diverse business opportunities and ethical focus. Jack's favorite Busch School memory is the intense business capstone class where he honed his skills in a competitive bike sale simulation. Jack shares his career journey as a Technical Recruiter at Dexian.

Why did you choose to attend the Busch School at The Catholic University of America?

I chose to attend the Busch School at Catholic University because it allowed me to explore a variety of avenues within the business realm and pursue whichever career I was most passionate about. Additionally, the Busch School offered an education focused on ethical business practices. I was taught much more than just how to make a profit.

What were some highlights of your time in the Busch School and at Catholic University?

One of my favorite highlights of my time at the Busch School of Business was my business capstone class with Professor May. It was an awesome experience working with a team against my other classmates and trying to compete for the most effective business model in our bike sale simulation. It allowed me to utilize all of my skills that I had learned thus far and was one of the more enjoyable classes that I had in my time there.

What have you enjoyed most about working in your position?

I have enjoyed building connections with my new coworkers in my new position. Genuine relationships with the people you are working with creates an atmosphere that allows you to be your best. You are more confident, and adaptable, and allow yourself to be pushed outside of your comfort zone. This has been something that I have worked very hard at and continue to work at each and every day to allow myself the opportunity to grow.

What advice do you have for prospective students?

My advice to any prospective students would be to try everything. Do your best to gain as much experience in as many different things as possible. The more that you are exposed to the more you will learn and the more prepared you will be to enter into the next chapter of your career.
