Mattea Del Peschio, CatholicU '24, is an Operations Management & Sales student from Boston, Massachusetts. She accepted a job as a Recruiter at Medix.

Briefly describe your new job opportunity.

"I will be a recruiter in the healthcare industry helping staff hospitals with various different workers like nurses or technicians. I will be working in Medix's Boston office which is just a short walk from my hometown."

How did your Busch School and Catholic University education help you find this career path?

"Professor Mark Weber and Ryan Reilly helped me so much whether it be by just having conversations with me about what I want or sending me jobs that may be interesting to me. I also learned about Medix through alumna Ally Criscuolo when she came to talk to my class with Professor Weber. I got to further learn about the company and its potential opportunities for work from her and another alumni, Alycia Powers, at the Sales Career Fair this past fall."

What activities were you involved in during undergrad?

"Women's Lacrosse (4 years), SAAC (4 years), Sales Program Ambassador, Mother Teresa and MLK Days of Service (4 years), Busch School Mentor"

What were some highlights of your time at Catholic University?

"Winning two Landmark Championships with the Women's Lacrosse team, Being selected to travel to Florida with the CUA Sales Program to compete in the International Collegiate Sales Competition in 2023, Winning the 2024 Upperclassmen Sales Competition, Participating in the Special Olympics Polar Plunge at CUA, Meeting all my friends and teammates over the years."

What advice do you have for students during their job search? 

"Make sure that the company and its culture are the right fit for you. As much pressure there is to find a job, do not settle, find a company and role you can see yourself thriving in! Also, use your resources for interview preparation, resume help, and all the other things CUA has to offer for students looking for jobs as well as CUA's vast alumni network."
