What is the mission of the club you lead?
The Business Women’s Council underscores the importance of women in business and leadership roles. We act as an advocate for undergraduate women by creating interface opportunities through guest speakers, workshops, and networking events.
How does this club add to the Busch School experience?
Our club offers dynamic opportunities for students to engage with women professionals and open the conversation of women in business. We focus on practical applications, such as a view into different careers in business, interview preparation, and resume building. However, we also focus on more long-term applications, such as creating an efficient balance between work, family, and faith.
What is your previous leadership experience?
I was previously a general member of The Business Women's Council and the Senate Secretary of the Student Government Association at Catholic. I am also a current member of the Dean's Student Advisory Council.
Why did you decide to take a leadership role?
I decided to take a leadership role because I saw an opportunity to truly grow this amazing club. In previous years, the club struggled with gaining members and hosting events. Therefore, when I took over as President, I had two goals in mind: increase enrollment and host two events per semester. These goals and our strong team of executives have made this a more prominent and active club in the business school. I find passion in creating these events for students. I am driven to become successful in business myself and want to help other women become successful as well. I've come to realize that by pushing myself to help others, I also gain valuable insight into these events and learn from other student's experiences and goals.
What is your favorite part about being a leader?
One of the most fulfilling aspects of my role as President is orchestrating gatherings and witnessing the enthusiastic participation of students. Observing students enter these events, actively engage with the speakers, and then incorporate the discussed topics into their lives is truly awe-inspiring. It is an honor to play a partial role in shaping the lives of these students.
