"I will be joining Cvent in a Sales Development/Account Management role, where I will work closely with prospective and existing clients to identify business needs, demonstrate the value of Cvent’s event and hospitality technology solutions, and drive revenue growth. This role focuses on building relationships, generating qualified opportunities, and supporting clients throughout the sales process."
How did your Busch School and Catholic University education help you find this career path?
"My education at the Busch School of Business provided a strong foundation in marketing, sales strategy, and technology management, which directly shaped my interest in client-facing roles. Through coursework, projects, and presentations, I developed skills in communication, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making. Additionally, CUA’s emphasis on professionalism, ethics, and real-world application along with career development resources and networking opportunities helped me confidently pursue and secure this role in sales."
What activities were you involved in during undergrad?
"During my time at Catholic University, I was involved in the Dean’s Student Advisory Board, where I collaborated with faculty and administration to enhance the student experience. I also served on the executive board of the Black Student Alliance (BSA), where I helped plan events and initiatives that promoted community, inclusion, and student engagement. In addition, I balanced academics with professional experience as a server at Busboys and Poets, which strengthened my communication, teamwork, and customer engagement skills."
What were some highlights of your time at Catholic University?
"One of the biggest highlights of my time at Catholic University was studying abroad, which allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone and gain a global perspective on both business and culture. Living and learning in a new environment helped me become more adaptable, independent, and open-minded."
What advice do you have for students during their job search?
"Be consistent and don’t take rejection personally, but treat it as feedback and a chance to improve. Focus on building genuine connections through networking, tailor your resume to each role, and be clear about the value you bring. Most importantly, stay patient and disciplined, because the right opportunity will come with persistence."
