Everyone at the Catholic University of America recognizes the importance that graduation holds for our students and their families, and we know the tremendous sense of pride that accompanies Commencement.     Schedule of Events

     

    10:00 AM - University Commencement Ceremony

    Location:  East Steps, Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception

    Note: Procession will begin at 9:30 a.m. Guests should be seated prior to the start of the procession.

     

    11:30 AM - President’s Reception

    Location: University Lawn (Rain: Garvey Hall and Columbus School of Law Atrium)

     

    1:30 PM - Time and Steph Busch School of Business Diploma Ceremony

    Location:  Great Upper Church, Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception

Logistics Questions

  • Are there tickets or RSVPs required for the graduation and diploma ceremonies?
    No, there are no tickets or RSVPs required.
  • What guests should I bring with me?
    We recommend bringing immediate family, however, you are welcome to bring whomever you'd like.
  • Where should I park?
    We recommend using a ride services or taking public transportation if possible. If you are driving, the following locations will be open: Shrine Parking lot, DuFour parking lot, or street parking along John McCormack Road.
  • How should individuals with disabilities navigate?
    There will be shuttles running for those who need assistance.

What time should I arrive to the Basilica Lawn?
All candidates for degrees are asked to assemble no later than 9:00 a.m. For additional information on the Commencement Exercises, please visit the University Commencement Page.

When should I arrive to the Busch School diploma ceremony?
Students should arrive at the Basilica no later than 1:30 PM

Will there be a rehearsal for the Busch School Diploma Ceremony?

Yes, all graduating BSA, BSBA, and MSB students will meet in the National Shrine for an overview of the graduation and diploma ceremonies. The exact date and time will be updated in the coming weeks

Disability Support Services

Individuals requesting accommodations for disabilities should contact cua-access@cua.edu at least one week prior to the event to request accommodations. In all situations, a good faith effort (up until the time of the event) will be made to provide accommodations.
