Carly Mulvaney, CatholicU '25, is a Finance and Sales student from Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. She accepted a job as a Global Casualty Underwriter at Chubb.

Briefly describe your new job opportunity.

"I will be joining the Chubb Associate Program, working with the Global Casualty Underwriting team. In this role, I will be evaluating and managing the risks associated with businesses worldwide. My responsibilities will include analyzing insurance applications, assessing risk exposures, and determining the appropriate coverage terms."

How did your Busch School and Catholic University education help you find this career path?

"Double specializing in Finance and Sales has given me a strong foundation that directly supports my career path. I knew I wanted to leverage my background in finance, but I was also looking for a role that involved meaningful, people-focused interactions. The Sales Program strengthened my communication and relationship building skills, which complement the analytical side of finance. This combination led me to my role as an underwriter because it is a balance of building client relationships while making informed financial decisions."

What activities were you involved in during undergrad?

"I am a Captain of the Women's Basketball team, and I am also the Secretary of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee."

What were some highlights of your time at Catholic University?

"Being part of the Women's Basketball Team has been incredible over these past four years. Competing at a high level alongside some of my closest friends has been an unforgettable experience."

What advice do you have for students during their job search? 

"My advice is to talk with upperclassmen and alumni about their experiences in the workforce to gain a better understanding of all of the possibilities out there that may interest you."
