Lucky Perrotto, CatholicU '25, is a Sales and Finance student from Chesterfield, NJ. He accepted a job as an Associate Systems Engineer.
Briefly describe your new job opportunity.
"I am very excited and grateful to return to Palo Alto Networks in their System Engineer Academy, a two-year program preparing me to become a solutions consultant. The program offers a great blend of technical expertise and sales, which I love because it allows me to dive deep into the technical side of cybersecurity while also leveraging my passion for sales and customer engagement. I’ll have the opportunity to work with experts to understand both the solutions and how to communicate their value to clients."
How did your Busch School and Catholic University education help you find this career path?
"I am incredibly grateful for the education and relationships I’ve built at Catholic University, particularly within the Sales Program at the Busch School. Being a part of this program allowed me to attend impactful events like career days and sales socials, where I had the opportunity to network with industry professionals. The support and mentorship from all of my professors, particularly Professor Weber, the head of the sales program, played a significant role in shaping my career path. Catholic University’s close-knitted community provided me with all the tools and opportunities to pursue my passions."
What activities were you involved in during undergrad?
"Being a part of the baseball team at Catholic University was one of the most rewarding experiences of my college years. It taught me invaluable lessons in teamwork, perseverance, and discipline that have carried over into all areas of my life. Additionally, I served as a sales program ambassador, which gave me the opportunity to represent the program and engage with prospective students. The business school also played a key role in helping me secure two internships during my time at Catholic, providing me with hands-on experience that has greatly shaped my career path."
What were some highlights of your time at Catholic University?
"One of the biggest highlights was being part of the Catholic University baseball team’s first-ever World Series run, which was an unforgettable experience and a proud moment for our team. Another major milestone was securing my first internship through the Elevate program at the Busch School of Business, which helped launch my career in sales and technology. Beyond academics and athletics, some of the most meaningful moments came from the incredible friendships I made, especially with my roommates, who have become lifelong friends."
What advice do you have for students during their job search?
"College is what you make of it, so focus on building genuine connections and applying yourself. Use the resources available to you, like LinkedIn, career days, and sales socials, to expand your network and meet people outside your usual circles. Getting involved in internships and campus activities can help you discover what truly excites you and unlock unique opportunities. Stay authentic, proactive, and don’t be afraid to take a different route to stand out."
