


Matthew Pereira, CatholicU '25, is a Sales and Marketing student from Ellicott City, Maryland. He accepted a job as Account Manager at Catering by Uptown.
Briefly describe your new job opportunity.
"I manage client relationships, lead venue tours, create proposals, and help plan weddings and events from start to finish."
How did your Busch School and Catholic University education help you find this career path?
"The Busch School gave me a strong foundation in sales, ethics, and communication. It helped me see business as a way to serve others and build lasting relationships."
What activities were you involved in during undergrad?
"I participated in Busch School networking events, business presentations, and interned during the semester to gain real-world experience. I also participated in Club Lacrosse and intramural sports to stay active and competitive."
What were some highlights of your time at Catholic University?
"One of the highlights for me was presenting in class, I enjoyed the chance to communicate ideas clearly and confidently. I also really valued group projects, where I got to collaborate with others and build teamwork skills in a hands-on way."
What advice do you have for students during their job search?
"Stay busy making connections at the networking events that are hosted by the Busch School. No connection is a bad connection everyone you meet can end up helping you even if it ends up just being a nice conversation."
